About Us
Veterans Dental Network started as a collaborative effort by Dr. Peter McClellan, DDS and Amanda Siegner, MS as part of a "Day of Service" for Dr. McClellan's (at the time) group of dental practices across the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. We've included a little timeline below to show just how we got started (the reader's digest version)!

Our Timeline
NOV 2021
Day of Service: November 12, 2021
The original idea happened in January 2021, just after Amanda started working for Dr. McClellan when they had their first Vivid Vision Meeting to kick off the New Year. In that meeting, part of the vision was to devote more time to community engagement and charity work in order to be a more well rounded practice group and to expose our employees to the current issue of health (in)equality that is such a predominant issue in America.
The first event was held on November 12, 2021 at the office located in Grain Valley, with support from the personnel of all five practices.
From 8am to 2pm the dentists, hygienists and assistants provided over $22, 000 in free dental care and time to veterans aged 25-80.
Some of those patients continue to visit the practice and have become part of the Grain Valley Dental Family.
FEB 2022
Non-Profit Established
Following our initial event, we decided to go all in and develop a plan to make the idea into a non-profit.
As of February 12, 2022, we officially became a recognized 501(c)3 with the IRS, making any donation to the organization tax-deductible.

As the months have continued, we've refined the overall mission and vision for our program to eventually work directly with servicemembers who are getting ready to or who have transitioned out of the military within the last three years, but have not had the resources to access quality dental care.
NOV 2022
City-Wide Day of Service
This year, our signature "Day of Service" event will happen on Veteran's Day, 11 November 2022.

Instead of just being held at Grain Valley Family Dental Clinic in Grain Valley, MO, we plan to expand the offerings to some of our other clinic locations in the greater Kansas City, Missouri area in order to serve a broader population of veterans, especially those who may have left the military within a more recent time frame.

We're also actively working on recruiting partners in the area like periodontists, oral surgeons, and endodontists who would like to participate in our "network" and maximize the amount of care our veterans receive.

If you're a provider who is interested in participating, the button below will take you to our 'Dentist Network' page where we'd love to get your information and talk more!
